How We Verify Seller Information

Oversized beds are a niche market where information changes fast. Sellers update pricing, adjust lead times, and modify return policies without notice. We take verification seriously because when you're spending $3,000–$10,000 on a bed you can't easily return, accuracy matters.

What We Verify

Products & Sizes Available

We check each seller's website to confirm which oversized sizes they actually carry. Just because a company makes mattresses doesn't mean they offer every oversized size–many specialize in one or two. We list only the sizes we can confirm are available for purchase or custom order.

Pricing

We record listed prices or price ranges from each seller's website. Where prices aren't publicly listed (some custom manufacturers require a quote), we note that. Price ranges on Big Bed Guide are approximate and may not reflect current promotions, bundles, or customization surcharges.

Shipping & Delivery

We document shipping regions (US only, US + Canada, international), delivery methods (FedEx Ground, freight/LTL, white glove), and whether shipping is free or has added costs. For oversized beds, delivery method matters–a 200-pound mattress arriving via curbside freight is very different from white-glove in-home setup.

Lead Times

We note whether products are in stock or made to order, and approximate production/delivery timelines. Most oversized mattresses are built after you order and take 1–6 weeks to arrive. We distinguish between "ships in days" and "ships in weeks" because this is a common surprise for first-time buyers.

Return Policies & Sleep Trials

This is the single most important policy detail for oversized bed buyers. Most custom-size mattresses cannot be returned–and many buyers don't realize this until after purchase. We clearly flag which sellers offer sleep trials (and their terms), which charge restocking fees, and which have a strict no-returns policy.

Warranty

We record warranty length and any notable terms. Most oversized mattress warranties are 10–20 years but may have different coverage periods for different components.

How Often We Update

We review seller information monthly and do a full verification pass quarterly. Every page with seller data displays a "Last verified" date so you can see how current the information is.

If you notice outdated information on any page, please let us know at hello@bigbedguide.com. We'll verify and update it.

What We Don't Do

We don't test mattresses in person (yet). Our comparisons are based on publicly available specifications, policies, and customer feedback–not hands-on sleep trials. We also don't have access to internal pricing or availability data, so there may be slight differences between what we report and what a seller quotes you directly.

We encourage every buyer to verify details directly with the seller before purchasing, especially for custom orders where dimensions and pricing may vary.
